Today’s video tutorial is a bit long; however, its full of tips and tricks for making your own fabulous textured backgrounds… starting with paper towel!
I used the Stampin Up Beautiful Season to achieve this gorgeous image. So pretty! I used water wonder crayons and stampin write markers along with my aqua painter to color my image. The key to a fabulous water color image is Stampin Up water color paper. Its awesome!
To frame my image I punched 4 curly labels from the Stampin Up curly label punch. I cut a slit from one point to the other and then tucked my corner in. What a great way to frame a picture for a scrapbook… right!
The base of my card is a 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ real red card stock folded in half. The next layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of always artichoke. You’ll see my 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of paper towel. I used my Old Olive stamp pad to add the color. Finally, my Stampin Up Beautiful Season image is stamped on a 3-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of water color paper. My sentiment was stamped on an extra piece of water color paper and trimmed to fit.
Don’t forget to finish your card with all the little extras such as Jewel Rhinestones, Real Red Ribbon and Crystal effects! Thanks for stopping by BrandysCards.com. I sincerely appreciate your feel back and support. Big hugs and Many blessings to you all! Brandy
Brandy – I get such a kick out of your videos. Your bubbly personality make them fun to watch, and your cards are darling, with lots of great, innovative ideas. I just wanted to let you know that you’re mispronouncing ‘grosgrain’. It’s not ‘gross-grain’, but rather ‘grow-grain’. You don’t pronounce the ‘s’ (it’s a French word, I think. Those Frenchies are always dropping their ‘s’s’.) I have been a dressmaker for 30+ years, and have used my fair share of grosgrain. I thought you would want to know, since you are a professional, and your videos are seen by many. No need to publish this – just wanted to help a ‘friend’. Here’s a link to an audio pronunciation: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/grosgrain
