I had so much fun making this card. The little chick actually reminds me of the “peeps” marshmallow treats. So, I was thinking daffodil delight all the way… Bright Yellow!!
I’ve made and posted several cards with this fun faux back ground. Therefore, I thought I would film a tutorial and show you exactly how I did it. My hope is to inspire you to give it a try!
Base
1.Cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Old Olive Cardstock. Score it at 4-1/4″ and fold it in half. This is your base.
2. Using the detailed flower from the What I Love Stamp Set and an Old Olive Stamp Pad to stamp around the edges for detail.
3. Cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Center and layer this piece on top of your base.
4. Cut a 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Whisper White for your background.
5. Using a Daffodil Delight Stamp Pad and the solid flower from the What I Love Stamp Set to randomly stamp your background.
Tip: Remember if you ink up your stamp and stamp it, you’ll get a bright beautiful yellow. As you continue to stamp with out re-inking you’ll get lighter shades as you go. Every card will be unique!!
6. Center and adhere your stamped background to the center of the white matte.
Easter Chick
1. Cut a 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Old Olive.
2. Using the detailed flower from the What I Love Stamp Set and an Old Olive Stamp Pad to stamp around the edges for detail.
3. Cut a 2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. This piece will be for your chick and your sentiment.
4. Stamp your chick towards the top of your 2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
5. Stamp your chick on scrap paper.
Tip: Stamp the chick the exact same way you stamped your background.
6. Fussy cut your chick out and add stampin dimensionals behind him to pop him up and off your card.
7. Center and adhere your 2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock with your chick to your 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Old Olive Cardstock.
Tip: I colored the chicks feet and beak using a Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker!
8. I used a strip of scrap paper for the sentiment and hand cut a banner.
Tip: I stamped my sentiment using an Basic Black Archival Stamp Pad.
9. Lastly, I stamped the little flower in Old Olive and fussy cut it out. I used a mini glue dot to adhere it to my banner.
10. Don’t forget to cut a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock to adhere inside your card.
