The Joyful Season Stamp Set is featured in the 2015 Holiday Catalog, p.29. It’s a Two-Step Stamp which gives you the flexibility and the ease to switch things up and experiment with color variations.
This card is simple but yet it holds its own with the splattered look and water colored looking Cardinal. I love how it turned out.

Base & Circles
1.Cut a 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and fold it in half. This is your base.
2.Use the Stampin Up Circle Framelit #6 to cut your circle from the front of your card. You’ll also want to use this framelit to cut a So Saffron Circle for the inside of your card.
Tip: Start cutting from the inside of your Circle Framelits. I used circle 5, 6 and 7.
3.Using the Stampin Up Circle Framelit #5 to cut the small white circle for the center of your So Saffron Cardstock. This is the circle you’ll be stamping!
4.To make the Early Espresso Frame around the inside and outside of card, you’ll use both the 6 & 7 Framelit.
5.Use a liquid glue or mini glue dots to attach the Early Espresso Circles on the inside around your So Saffron Circle or around the outside of the top of your card.
Cardinal
1. To stamp the Cardinal, I used the following colors: Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Real Red. I stamped the outlined image in Early Espresso or you can use a StazOn Black.
2. First stamp your outlined image in StazOn Black on scrap paper.
3. Ink your non-detailed bird up in Crushed Curry. Stamp off and then stamp it on your outlined bird.
4. Ink it back up in Calypso Coral and stamp it on top of the Crushed Curry Bird.
Tip: Lastly, ink up Real Red but be sure to stamp it off before layering it over the top of the Calypso Coral bird.
5. Stamp your beak in Real Red.
6. Cut out the outline of your Cardinal and prepare to pop it up off your small white circle.
Tip: Stamp your circle before adding it to your So Saffron Circle. I used Early Espresso and Garden Green for my branch and leaves.
Blue Bird
1. The colors I used to create my Blue Bird are Pool Party and Pacific Point. I stamped the outlined bird in StazOn Black.
2. First stamp your outlined image in StazOn Black on scrap paper.
3. Ink your non-detailed bird up in Pool Party. Stamp it on your outlined bird.
4. Ink your non-detailed bird back up in Pacific Point and stamp it on top of your Pool Party Bird.
5. I used Calypso Coral for his beak.
6. When I cut him out, I cut off his tuft and gave him a cut rounded head. I used a Black Sharpie or Marker to add the dark line back around the top of his head.
Fun Splatters
1.Cover the inside of your card with a piece of scrap paper so that you don’t get speckles on your bird.
2. Use an Aqua Painter and a Ink refill to pickup color and create splatters on the front of your card.
Tip: I used both So Saffron and Early Espresso to create my splatters. You could try to do the same thing to your Blue Bird Card!

These cards are both stunning! I love watching the birds out my window and you just gave me so many ideas for different color combinations. Cutting the top feathers off the original birds head makes a completely new bird…genius. Thanks for the inspiration.
