The Inspirational Colors of the day are Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, Very Vanilla and Basic Black!
Well… I have to say these colors challenged me. I had already decided that I was going to make a fun Father’s Day card from the Stampin Up Stamp Set Best Dad Ever featured the Summer Mini Catalog. I just wasn’t sure which colors were going to be my base and which color I liked best to accent.
For the design I ended up with the base is Basic Black. Then layered with More Mustard and Very Vanilla. You’ll see I textured the Very Vanilla with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I just love the embossing folders!
Next, I cut a small rectangle out of Stampin Up Glossy card stock. I used a sponge to sponge the Garden Green on his shirt. I wanted a different look with more of a texture so that is why I choose to sponge it on verses using Garden Green Card Stock. I cut several small long rectangles for the arms and neck. I used the Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink Pad to stamp the tie and then I cut it out. I added a bit of bling with the one Jewel Rhinestone.
Well… How did I do? I can make girly cards all day long. It’s much harder for me to go Masculine! Hope you liked it!
