Take a look at this fabulous color combination. What does it remind you of? When I first saw it, it took me back to Hawaii. That’s right, I started to think about the beautiful Hawaii flowers and colors. Therefore, I picked out my Stampin’ Up! Simple Friendship stamp set and was instantly drawn to the butterfly and flower.
The technique I used on this colorful butterfly is called “GRADATION.”
Gradation Technique Instructions: Using markers, color a solid image with two or more colors. For the butterfly I used Rose Red in the middle, then Pumpkin Pie and towards the tips I used Daffodil delight. Then use a sponge dauber and blend the colors together where they meet.
To achieve the textured backgrounds I used the flower in the Stampin’ Up! Simple Friendship stamp set and stamped on the card stock with the same color as the card stock. For example, I used Rose Red ink to stamp on the Rose Red paper!
Supplies Used:
Concord Crush Card Stock, Rose Red Card Stock, Daffodil Delight Card Stock & Old Olive Card Stock. Stampin Write Markers: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. Ink: Same color as the card stock.
