Today’s card was designed for my Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge BB-1. The colors of the day are Black and White. Therefore, I used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Day Stamp Set along with black and white card stock and black StazOn ink. I love how this card turned out!

Directions

This card is so fun to make and it’s a 5 minute WOW for sure! The base is Basic Black. I cut and folded the whisper white piece. Next, I used the 2-1/2″ Circle punch to punch out the circle in the front top of the card and, then, I glued the white base to the top of the card. The trim was fun to make too. I wanted it to appear like matching ribbon. I used the scraps from cutting the whisper white card stock and stamped on it with the same image in the scallops. To take it a step further, I stamped a scrap piece and tied it like a ribbon with a knot. I used a mini glue dot and it’s hard to see but it’s toward the bottom of the card. I also had fun making a beautiful embellishment out of Stampin’ Up! pressed clay and buttons and blossoms mold. It’s so fun!

I’m super excited about our very first Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge. Click here to see all the beautiful cards created by the design team. Brandy: Thank you for sharing! I just made my 10 cards (in almost 20 min.) & they came out beautifully! Also, I love your wall rack that holds all your papers. May I ask where you got that? (I know I’m responding a year after you made this video so I don’t know if you’ll see this.) Again, thank you for sharing!

Brandy, This was an absolutely fabulous video. I’ve been a demonstrator for a few years, but have had a creative block for the last few months. You have totally inspired me and I’m heading down to my craft room to make these cards! And I never realized all the great stuff on Uline! Thanks so much! Deb

I have recently discovered your website and have visited it often. I loved the card you made using “Happy Day” stamp set, in fact, since it is a retiring set, I just HAD to order it before it was gone!! Your videos are easy to follow and understand and I LOVE your personality. You seem like you’d be a lot of fun to craft with. Stacy

    Hi Brandy:

Just watched your video on making a “Hello card in black and white in 20 minutes. I am really impressed with your technique and your organization. Well done! They look fabulous.
I am a new demonstrator and just learning to make cards and to scrapbook. Thanks for sharing. I will be checking your website now on a regular basis as I find you to be a good teacher. Very clear and concise.

I do not yet have a website.

Hi Brandy! I have a question, but first of all let me say that i am so totally in love with this card you did!!! I want to make them so bad but you used the “Happy Day” stamp set and I don’t own that one yet. I was wondering your thoughts on how well it would work substituting either the “Quint-Essential Flower” or the “Delicate Doilies” stamp set????

OMG, Brandy, I am a brand new demonstrator (haven’t gotten my start up kit yet – signed up on Friday 4/4/14). Couldn’t wait to investigate the good things I heard about your talent. So this is the first video I have watched (now twice) and I am so impressed with your design and hope to copy it in my workshops/classes. I was excited before, but now I am REALLY REALLY EXCITED to get started.

Love your YouTube card making sites. You have given me so much inspiration to use up my scrap paper, punches and stamps I have. I have just discovered Stamping up and I would love to see more. Right now I am designing my hobby room and once again I am inspired by your room. As soon as I organize my room and have everything in its place I would love to see some of your products. I am and was a faithful creative memories girl and now the company is dissolved and I hate the new company that took over. There is no creativity still all. So thank you for stirring my creative juices and hope to see more.

I watched your video for 10 cards in 20 min. and loved it. So I made thank you cards for my retirement gift.
I used some stamps from SU and used some pretty paper to make the center and a flower petal from CTMH
and a brad. Turned out very cute. My little grt niece came over and wants to do Christmas cards and picked out what paper she wanted to use for each layer. So cute. Thanks Brandi for your ideas and Merry Christmas.

I went to the website and looked at the product, #S-10579. The description indicated that they were completely clear, however, on your video, I thought it looked like the bottom of the box was white. I would be grateful if you could confirm for me. thanks so much Brandy, Sarah

    Hi Brandy,

I just watched your 10 Cards in 20 Minutes video, and I am so impressed. It would be amazing to make 10 very simple cards in 20 minutes, but you made 10 intricate and beautiful cards with stamped “ribbon” edges and crystal centers. Awesome!!! I also really like that you chose a black and white theme which is so popular right now. The cards placed in your Uline boxes, tied with ribbon really makes a beautiful gift. Thank you so much for your inspiring video.

You may have already drawn for the winner, but I still need to tell you Brandy, these are fabulous!! LOVE the “designer” coordinating ribbon:)

  150. Joni Good June 12, 2013 at 7:02 pm #

Oh my gosh Brandy – I just love watching your videos. They are so informative and I love the little tips and shortcuts. I notice you use glue most of the time and not snail. Is there a reason for that? It looks much faster than snail. Does it all really stick together? I’ve notice a few of my cards coming apart lately. Very discouraging. Anyway – thanks again for all of your great cards! ~ Joni

    • Brandy Cox June 13, 2013 at 9:20 pm #

      Hi Joni,
Thanks a great questions and a very good observation. I think everyone you ask has a different opinion; however, I am a Tombow user. I like using glue because I feel like the snail falls apart and that also frustrates me. Its a bit of a learning curve as to the amount of pressure and things to use the glue but once you get it I do believe its faster. Hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! Brandy

  151. Jenny Rosen June 12, 2013 at 6:42 pm #

Super cute idea about the paper ribbon. I had bought glassine bags to slip cards in instead of envelopes but I didn’t know about the boxes!!!!

  152. Dora Mann June 12, 2013 at 4:40 pm #

Hi Brandy, Love your videos! Thanks for sharing! Thought you might get a laugh out of knowing that a stampin’ dimensional accidentally stuck to the back of the second card from the top of the second box you packed. There were 210 comments before mine. I’d be curious to know if anyone else noticed as well. Happy Stampin’

I’ve been wanting to start selling my beautiful cards online but didn’t have beautiful boxes to put them in. Also, I loved this 10 cards in 20 min. video you put up today. it is a big help to me to learn this technique because I make hundreds of cards each year for my Church and send them out a few days in advance of each person’s birthday from babies to the oldest of our congregation. These tips will be of tremendous help to me. THANK YOU so much !!!!! That you for offering to send one of us the gift of boxed cards too. Thanks so much for that. Sincerely, Kathy

I love watching your video’s and I wish I lived close to you so I could be in your classes. That was a beautiful card! I have been thinking about the clay alot and I’m going to have to give it a try. I will be without a demonstrator soon and I can’t find another one online I like as much as you. In about 2 months you will be hearing more from me.

  282. Cynthia Tuttle June 11, 2013 at 12:51 pm #

Hello Brandy, I really love your black and white card!! When you made your Simply Pressed Paper Clay flowers, did you have difficulty with them releasing from the mold?? I ended up using the freezer and it really helped them pop right out, even the buttons popped out with a little bit of coaxing. I haven’t tried putting glitter in the mold yet, but it is on my list of things to try. Love you!! Thank you for your great videos and tons of inspiration too!!

  283. Debbie Jez June 11, 2013 at 12:49 pm #

    • Brandy Cox June 13, 2013 at 10:28 pm #

      Hi Julie,
Thanks for stopping by! I’m sorry for the confusion… ya know I stamped another strip just like the original strip along the side. This second ribbon I just tied the paper in a knot just as you would a ribbon. I then cut each end off like a ribbon knot and used a glue dot to stick it down. That’s it! Its pretty cool. I had a hard time getting a good photo of it for you. So sorry! Stay in touch and thank you for subscribing! Hugs, Brandy

WE love the card,it is Beautiful. I can see using Red,White,& Blue ink for an Awesome July 4th Card. Then taking a flag stamp to use for the “Binding” so to speak on the edge. We have to also take care of “Conner’s Cause”. We are constantly on the look out for ideas.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.RaElla & Conner.
