Today’s inspiration is this fabulous little gift box and matching card. This project was one of two projects that we made Monday night during our monthly stamp club meeting!
If you love the Big Shot and know your dies you’ll see that this is designed from the Top Note Bigz Die. The feature stamp set is from the Stampin’ Up! 2011 Occasions Mini Catalog, it’s called Nature Walk and it does come in both Clear and Wood Mount Stamps. Just a perfect Stamp Set for the bird lovers out there. It’s very delicate and full of nature. I know I will hang on to this stamp set for a really long time.
I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the stamps. I focused on Old Olive to match my Card Stock and Melon Mamba to pop my flower. I then colored my bird in Marina Mist and went back over his wings and tail with Night of Navy before stamping it. If you would like more contrast try Bashful Blue first and then use your Night of Navy on the wings and tail. Just playing around with color is one of the best ways to learn how to blend them. Of course, I had to add a small Rhinestone for his eye. I didn’t add glitter this time but it’s just because I was short on time. I am a serious glitter bug and always look for a place to add bling.
The picture above shows the Top Note Box open and it’s card sitting inside of it. If you’d like a tutorial on how to make your own Top Note Box please click here. If you have any trouble or need help let me know.
