Technique: Shaving Cream Background

 

Shaving Cream Technique with the Stampin’ Up! “Lean on Me” stamp set.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1 ~

Fill your paper plate with shaving cream.

Step 2 ~

Use a stick to smooth the shaving cream out a bit. Then add several drops of each of your re-inker colors.

Step 3 ~

Mix shaving cream and re-inker in a swirling motion.

Step 4 ~

Don’t blend it too much. You want contrast.

Step 5 ~

Press your card stock into the shaving cream. Make sure your putting the glossy side down and its getting completely covered.

Step 6 ~

Pull your card stock out of the shaving cream and wipe off with a paper towel.

Note: Lay another piece of card stock on top of the one covered in shaving cream.  Press together, then pull apart giving you two shaving cream coated pieces of card stock.  Let dry.

Finish your card by either layering an image on top or stamping directly on the background.

Items Needed: Paper Towel Paper, Plate Stick or Bone Folder, 2 Way Glue Pen, Shaving Cream, Stampin Dimensionals, StazOn Basic Black Ink, Island Indigo, Whisper White & “Glossy” White Card Stock, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Bashful Blue, Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, and Marina Mist Ink Refills Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo Stampin Write Marker.

Step 1 ~ Prepare your 5″ x 3-3/4″ “Glossy” whisper white card stock.

Step 1 ~ Start with an 8-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of island indigo card stock.  Fold it in half.  This is your base.

Step 2 ~ Layer a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of whisper white card stock on top of the island indigo card stock.

Step 3 ~ No layer your 5″ x 3-3/4″ glossy shaving cream/re-inker background.

Step 4 ~ Cut a 3-1/2″ x 3 piece of whisper white for the front of your card.

Step 5 ~ Rap  the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon around it.

Step 6 ~ Using stamping dimensionals add a 3″ x  2-1/2″ piece of  island indigo to the middle of the 3-1/2″ x 3″ whisper white card stock.

Step 7 ~ Stamp your image in StazOn black on a 2-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ piece of whisper white card stock and then layer it on top of the island indigo.

Step 8 ~ Using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie,  and Island Indigo markers to color the subject.

Step 9 ~ Color image with a 2 way glue pen… then sprinkle with dazzling diamonds glitter.

Step 10 ~ Don’t forget to add your 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of whisper white to the inside of your card.
