Today’s Video Tutorial features the Stampin’ Up! Blended Bloom Stamp set and the NEW Blendabilities Alcohol Markers.
What is an alcohol marker? Great question!
An alcohol marker is alcohol base meaning the ink is suspended in alcohol instead of water. This allows you to apply color to your card stock smoothly with no streaky lines.
These markers are color fast so that your color doesn’t fade. You’ll also notice that you get a more vibrant and intense color.
Directions
1. Cut a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Strawberry Slush Cardstock and fold it in half. This is your base.
2. Use the Big Shot and the Decorative Dots embossing folder to create the textured decorative dots.
3. Cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock and hand tear it at 4-1/4″.
Tip: I like to tear the paper towards myself and use my finger to guide the tear. I want it to look like an intentional tear or distress.
4. Cut 4-1/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and hand tear it at a 3-3/4″ and layer it on top of your Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
5. Next I added a bit of Baked Brown Sugar Thick Bakers Twine.
Flower
1. Using a Memento Ink pad and stamp your image on scrap paper.
2. I started outlining three or four petals with the darkest Coastal Cabana. Tip: For best results be sure you are stamping on Stampin’ Up! Whisper White cardstock.
Tip: – Coastal Cabana (Item #131000 – $11.95) comes with three markers: Light Coastal Cabana, Medium Coastal Cabana and Dark Coastal Cabana.
3. I then used my medium Coastal Cabana and started to blend over the darker color.Tip. I used a circular motion to blend. You want to keep blending until the lines disappear the flower appears seamless.
4. Finally, I color with the light Coastal Cabana to do my final blending.
Tip: I love the Blendabitilies tips. They are made of Nylon which means they don’t fray. Woo Hoo!
5. Continue to do the remainder of the petals until your finished coloring and blending.
6. Punch a 1-1/4″ scallop circle for the center of your flower.
7. Using the Stampin’ Up! Starburst Sayings Stamp set and Strawberry Slush to stamp your greeting.
Tip: Cut the image out with the coordinating Starburst Framelits!

I think they are spectrum noir marker trays.. I searched marker storage … They are 4.95 per tray (12 markers) or sold in sets!! Might have to get them!!!

Hi Brandy, I have used alcohol markers before and they are awesome so imagine how excited I was when I saw the Stampin Up was going to offer them. You said when they are used up you can buy new ones, but aren’t they refillable? And here is a tip for you’ when you open them use your two thumbs to pop the top off. When you pull the top off you risk bending your tip, I felt awkward at first opening them, but now I really find it much easier. Another thing I do is stamp my image and emboss it, then I color it and I have even used my pens on glitter paper, wait until you do that. Can you tell I’m excited??
