The class was called “How’d she do that?” Meaning I used household products on my cards and the ladies had to guess which products I used and how I used them.
Can you pick out the household product? Yep, your right… its Scott Paper Towels!!! Here is how this card came together. First, I started with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of cherry cobbler card Stock and folded it in half. This is the base of my card. I then cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of always artichoke to layer on top of the cherry cobbler. Next, I found a roll of Scott paper towel and cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of paper towel to layer on top of the always artichoke.
Before I layered the paper towel piece… I used an old olive stamp pad and began rubbing the paper towel with it. Note: You want to rub in the direction of the paper towel fibers. This will give you a very distinct texture for your background. Be very, very gentle with you paper towel. It will tear easily!
Next, I punched 4 cherry cobbler curly labels. Using a craft blade to cut a slit in each curly label. Now stamp your image with StazOn Black onto water color paper. Your water color paper so be sized at 3-3/4″ x 3-1/4″. I used Stampin Up stampin write markers and an aqua painter to color my image and blend it. I then used a permanent marker to color a few jewel rhinestones. I then added them to my colored image. Now its time to layer it up. Add you frame, which is, the curly label punched corners. Add a few stampin dimensionals and center it on the paper towels. You can tie a knot with real red ribbon and use a mini glue dot to adhere it to your image. Your very last step is to add crystal effects. As beautiful as the card is without the crystal effects… its stunning with it! Its sometimes the little things that just add so much. Don’t forget to add your greeting. I used an extra piece of water color paper at 1/2″ x 3-3/4″.
