Check out these adorable ribbon or paper weaved cards!!! My Aunt Judy made them and sent them my way. I was thrilled to share them with you. What a GREAT idea! I can’t wait to try it. I asked her how she did it and this is what she wrote.
I cut out the shape of what it was I was going to do first. Then I glued the ribbons all going down one way (only glue ONE end) (measure your ribbon and cut it ahead of time) Let that dry. Then take the ribbon going the opposite way weaving it over and under as you go, starting at the top of your shape. I glue both sides of that ribbon as soon as it’s where I want it. Keep adding another row weaving the opposite over and under and gluing both sides until you are at the bottom. After you have your across pieces all where you want them THEN glue the other end of the ribbons that came down.
I did a duck out of textured yellow stock on a larger card and you will not believe how cute it turned out. The stock is easier to work with than the ribbon but harder to get the small sizes. The ribbon comes in a million patterns.
I have a book called “The Joy of Card Making Collector’s Edition” put out by Papercrafts. There are over 360 ideas and it is the best card idea book on the market!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards with us and I can’t wait to get this book! Thank You!!!
