The inspirational colors of the day are Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. The featured stamp set is Stampin’ Ups! Pony Party.
One of my goals is bring mothers and daughters together to stamp. When I pulled the card stock to these colors I immediately thought of Valentine’s Day. I knew that I didn’t want to go that route so I started flipping through my Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog to find the perfect stamp set. Keep in mind as I was looking I was looking for a set that I could use the brown as my base and then use the Rose Red and Pretty in Pink to add pop or accent. Pony Party worked perfectly!
I will put this card aside and those of you interested in joining me for another Mommy and Me can expect to see this Pony again!
The base of the card is 5-1/1″ x 4-1/4″ Very Vanilla. I tore a bit of Crumb Cake to add to the bottom of my 4-1/4″ x 31/4″ Soft Suede Card Stock. Next, I cut my Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Card Stock to 3-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ so that it would fit perfectly inside my Soft Suede.
To color this precious pony I used Stampin’ Up! Water Wonder Crayons and an Aqua painter. They are one of my most favorite products. They make me feel like an artist or painter and I am clearly not. Lol. I really enjoy them! To stay true to the challenge the pony is Soft Suede and her mane and tail are Pretty in Pink with a Pop of Rose Red accent. Of course, I had to make her nails Rose Red too!
The ribbon is the retired Polka Dotted Soft Suede. I loved it…. I think that small piece was my last. Boo. I tied a small piece of 1/8″ Rose Red Grosgrain and 1/8″ Grosgrain Pretty in Pink to tie the colors together. That’s it!
Hey, I almost forgot… the wings. So pretty! I stamped them on Very Vanilla scrap card stock. I used a two way glue pen to color in the wings and then I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Oh… I love how it just adds that perfect touch to her. She is precious, sweet and a bit sassy too!
