Today’s fun card was designed for my Christmas stamp camp. I just loved it! Its pretty easy if you have the Stampin’ Up! Top Die Bigz Die.
The base of my card is whisper white. The next layer is a 3-3/4? x 5? piece of garden green card stock. Next, you’ll want to use your Big Shot and Top Note Die and cut one black, one white and one red top note.
You will use the the white top note as the base and layer up. Next cut you black top note and glue it to his face. Before I trimmed my red top note I ran it through the and textured using a textured impressions embossing folder by Stampin Up! After your red top note is textured you’ll want to trim it to size and then round the corners. I used stampin dimensionals to pop it up.
I used the “Merry Christmas” from the Stampin Up Come to Bethlehem stamp set. It fit perfectly on his hat! The snowflake is the new Snow Flurry Bigz Die by Stampin Up! The center of the snowflake was created with Stampin Up glimmer paper and a 1/2″ circle punch.
To finish your snowman I used the 1/2″ circle punch for his eyes. I punched a tangerine tango 1″ square and them trimmed it for his nose. Lastly, I used the cupcake builder punch to create his mouth. Don’t forget to add the shine in his eyes and a jewel rhinestone to his hat. Its just the little things!
I hope your enjoying the Holidays! Take time to sit with your family and friends and take it all in.
Here I am and it December. 2013, and I just found your adorable snowman card using the top note die. I have made many other things using this die, however I somehow missed this card. So cute… I guess I need to search a little longer, and who knows what else I will find.
I’m loving this top note snowman. I teach 3rd grade and every month I make the kids seasonal writing prompt bags using the top note and small paper bags. This snowman would be perfect for December or January. Each child creates a writing prompt. I type the prompts out, make copies of them all and place them inside each student’s writing prompt bag that stands very nicely on their desks. As soon as the kids come in the classroom each day, they eagerly reach in the bag for a prompt that a fellow student (NOT the teacher) created and start writing in their journals. My students are constantly thinking up new prompts for the next month and writing them down in the “Got A Prompt?” section of their writing journals, while wondering what the next writing prompt bag will look like. They save these bags with the prompts in them and at the end of each month, they glue them in the front of that month’s collection of writings. INSPIRATION! MOTIVATION!
Many (most) times I get a group of parents (moms AND DADS) together at school on a Saturday morning for coffee and donuts and we create the bags. This is such a fun time. No kids allowed, just parents! Stampin’ Up provides me with lots of great communicating moments with my parents. We talk about the progress the kids are making and build a strong bond between school and home . . . all while taking some work off my hands (I don’t have to make all the bags).
This is super adorable, Brandy! I love it.
