To Create this card I used the Stampin Up Papillon Potpourri stamp set. I just love the variations of butterflies. You can layer them in different colors or shades. What is most exciting is the Elegant Butterfly Punch to match. Perfect right! No cutting… just a quick punch.
I started with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Rose Red card stock. I textured the top of my card using the Framed Tulips Impressions folder. The large scallop was made with the Scallop Circles #2 die. The Baja Breeze doily was cut using the “New” Delicate Doily Sizzlits Die. I have to admit I loved the large Stampin Up Doily Sizzlit… I hated punching out all the pieces. With that said I have been much happier with the smaller doilies. The piece fall out pretty easy and there isn’t as many.
On top of the Baja Breeze Doily is a the medium doily also cut from the Stampin Up Delicate Doily Sizzlit Die. Note: I didn’t punch all the pieces out of this one. I didn’t need to because my So Saffron Circle covers it. Woo Hoo! The 1-3/4″ circle punch was used to create my So Saffron Circle.
I used the fabulous “New” In Color Primrose to stamp my butterfly directly on the So Saffron circle. Some of your butterfly will not be on the circle and that is OK. You want it to look like its fluttering or flying of the circle anyway. I then stamped the same Primrose butterfly on a piece of whisper white card stock. I punched it out using the Elegant Butterfly punch.
Lastly, I added my jewel pearl and a sentiment. The banner sentiment I choose is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. I free hand cut it out; however, you can purchase the matching framelits to make it easier. I added a small Itty Bitty flower on the side. It doesn’t really need it but for some reason I had to add it! That’s it! The picture of this card doesn’t do it justice as it looks more like a melon momba. The color is actually Rose Red. Either way I really enjoyed creating this card and I hope you do too.
