Check out today’s video tutorial featuring the Best of Butterflies stamp set and the new Stampin Up silver foil paper. Its Awesome!!!
I really enjoyed designing and making this card for you. Its rather simple but yet looks sophisticated. The new Silver Foil paper mimics a metal or metallic surface. You guys know… I love that!!!
The butterfly I actually used was the original and now retired Stampin Up Strength and Hope stamp set. Good News is if you like butterflies and would like this butterfly it is now available in the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set… even better you get 5 GREAT butterflies from the past.
Products Used Include:
- Foil Paper #132178
- StazOn Black Ink #101406
- Basic Black Card Stock #121045
- Whisper White Card Stock #100730
- Two Stampin’ Sponges #101610
- Best of Butterflies Stamp Set #133345
- Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set #130517
Check this out… so I found some retired Stampin Up card stock called Night and Day. It was one of my favorites. I wanted to make multiple cards and I just knew my 2 sheets of designer series paper wasn’t enough. So, I decided to re-create the grunge look on my own. How do you think I did?
Sizes & Dimensions Include:
- 4-1/4″ x 11″ Basic Black Card Stock (Base)
- 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White (Inside)
- 4-1/4″ x 2″ Whisper white for Sponging
- 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ Silver Foil for Butterfly
I just wanted to share with you a fun way to package your cards. I purchased this fabulous box at Uline. The box is clear on top and white on the bottom. It holds 4 to 5 cards depending on how you embellish them. The size of the box I use is 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 3/4. They are called Stationary Boxes.
I made the belly band the exact same way as the cards themselves. The only difference is I used a piece of 12 x 12 paper so that it would wrap around the box.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s video tutorial. Thank you for stopping by and Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. I sincerely appreciate it! Have a Blessed Day! Brandy
I love this card. I made the butterflies with the Martha Stewart punch. And the center part I used the wax paper technique. It’s on my blog.
Thanks for the tutorial.
Brandy, I have only recently discovered your videos and website and I am in AWE! The Best of Butterflies and the Swallowtail cards are right up my alley. I like your self-deprecating manner when you make what could be an “oops” but then you always turn it into something useful. You have a new devoted follower, my dear. Keep up the good work and thank you soooo much for sharing your talents with the rest of us!
in His love,
Glenda

You are truly an inspiration.

Nice card. You kinda crack me up. I just love watching your videos. You’re so real. I did 2 ATC’s using the cascading flower — except I used leaves — technique. Then I did a few regular sized cards using that technique. One has flowers, one some swirls and then one with presents. All are great. I am going to use the present one (multiplied by about 25) for Christmas Thank you’s. So THANK YOU for the great technique and for all the videos. You’re really fun to watch.

Maybe someday I will be able to make it to one. You are fabulous. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.
Let’s speed things up. Make an entire page of sponging and dots at once, then cut to size. Should work, right? L

You amaze me girl! Love this card.
Ronda
Thank you Ronda!
Wow! Love the video. I learned some new things today….like the tearing method that you used. I also love the torn look, but hate doing it because it is time consuming. And your method of gluing the piece down and tearing it was brilliant! And I sat here with my mouth hanging open when you started putting dimensionals on the butterfly pieces….I have never seen anyone use both hands, putting 2 dimensionals on at once, and then removing the backing in one motion! WOW! The packaging was also beautiful, love the way the belly band ties into the cards inside.
I can’t wait to use some of the things I learned today. I’m thinking of applying this to a Christmas card, maybe using the snowflake instead of the butterfly. Thanks for your inspiration!
Hi Bobbye,
