Today’s super cute card features the Stampin’ Up! Sea Street Stamp Set and the fabulous Stampin’ Write Markers!
Base & Background
1. Cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and fold in half. This is your base.
2. Alternate between markers to draw your lines.
Tip: I used Stampin’ Write Markers. They are a water based marker.
3. The colors I used are Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Tangelo Twist.
Tip: Use the side of your marker and lightly glide your marker across your paper. You don’t have to have perfectly straight lines. It’s art and you’re creative… let loose and have fun with it!! That’s what makes each card original full of character!!
Octopus
1. Cut a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Pacific Point Cardstock.
2. Cut a 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Tempting Turquoise Cardstock and layer it on top of your Pacific Point Cardstock.
3. Cut a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock for your image.
4. Stamp your Octopus on a piece of Whisper White Scrap Paper in Pacific Point and fussy cut him out.
Tip: Remember… you don’t have to cut perfectly around him. You can easily leave white space in his tentacles and around him. Your mounting him on white paper so you’ll never notice it.
5. Stamp the school of fish across the lower portion of your Whisper White Cardstock in Tempting Turquoise.
Tip: To get the lighter fish… I inked my stamp in Tempting Turquoise and stamped off and then stamped on my good cardstock. This creates a lighter image.
6. Use a Stampin’ Dimensional to pop up your Octopus.
7. Stamp your birthday balloon and fussy cut it out. Use a Stampin’ Dimensional to pop it up off your card.
8. Lastly, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals behind my large Pacific Point square and centered it on the front of my card.
Happy Birthday
The inside of the card was created to compliment the front of the card and the matching envelope. I used the same color scheme and markers for the bottom portion of my card. Once the lines were finished, I stamped my little extras.
1. Crab – Real Read Ink Pad
2. Stars – Daffodil Delight Ink Pad
3. Happy Birthday – Tangelo Twist
4. Don’t forget to dress up your envelope to match. I add the same lines and color scheme to the envelope flap. Oh, I love it!!!
Scholastic Under The Sea Book Fair
The theme of this year’s Book Fair is Under The Sea. The ladies went all out to decorate for the children. We made coral, spray painted it and added all kind of colorful creatures and textures.
My favorite part of the decorations and wall was my octopus. He was huge and his tentacles each held a book.
He peered around the wall and just made a fun focal point. With that said… I forgot to get a picture with his head on…LOL!!!! I hope you enjoy my pictures of the fair featured below.
Due to all the colors at the Book Fair and the silly sea creatures, I decided to make a fun, happy and colorful birthday card for you today!!
Oops! We could not locate your form.

God bless you for helping to see that each and every child could get a book. I’m a retired teacher so I really appreciate how important this is! Also LOVE you videos.
Hi Brandy, I have not heard from you in a while and was getting worried about you. So happy to hear it was that your were so busy with the under the sea theme at school. Nice to see you are back. I know how busy being the PTA can be, been there too. Love how you made the back ground on your card. I love watching all of your videos. I can not wait to see our new catalog. I have seen that the prices are changing. The emboss folders are coming down in price, yay! That will will be helpful. Cute card and congratulations for a successful book fair. Take care, Debbie
Hi Brandy! I get so excited when I see a video post notification in my email so thank you for putting out such amazing ideas and techniques. My 5 year old daughter and I watched this video together tonight and we can’t wait to create our own version of it! She was very interested in learning the term “fussy cut” and she laughed when you said “straight down…straight up” because that’s what I say when teaching her!
Thank you for the inspiration and wonderful energy you bring.

This IS such a fun and easy card — even with the fussy cutting! The book fair pics are GREAT, and as much work as it was, it is so important to serve our communities — especially our schools and children. I have to admit that I use your videos not only for crafting inspiration and learning new things but occasionally, when I just need pick- me-up your videos are a go-to. Your sunny, upbeat personality gives me a boost when I need one, so even though we have never met, I do consider you a friend and supporter. Thank You.
What a fun card. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Brandy,
I love your videos, and how helpful you are. I did not see the place to check no contact when I placed my order with you, and worried that you wouldn’t know that I placed the order. Not because I was worried about receiving a thank you card from you, but because you went to the trouble and expense to send me catalogs, and I wanted you to know I appreciated it.
I just retired from teaching last year, and I certainly appreciated the hard work our PTO ladies did in putting on the book fair at our school. I am sure your children’s school staff feel the same way about your donation of time and talent. The displays you made looked awesome. What a lot of fun for the kids, and a great way to celebrate the love of reading.
Best Wishes,
Mary
Brandy, I love this card. I bought this stamp set a while ago, but hadn’t been inspired to use it yet. Well, you have given me inspiration today. I have been watching your videos for a long time now, and don’t know why I haven’t commented before because I love just about everything you do. one of my favorites is the notebook cover with the notebook and pocket in it. I made a bunch of them, and when my daughter saw them she wanted to buy them from me to use for teacher gifts this year. So, now I have to make more. Lol.
My children are long grown but I remember how frantically busy life gets. We were involved with PTA, Cub Scouts and majorettes. Whew.
So good for you. These are really busy years for you, and you will always be so glad you made the effort to serve.
But, please try to sneak in these videos, also.
We need our Brandy fix!!
Brandy, what a great card! Love it! You have such cool ideas…..wish I had thought of that! LOL!
I so love your cards and look forward to receiving all of your e-mail updates. You are a true ambassador for Stampin’ Up and a true inspiration for all who follow your work. Thank you, thank you.
Your Under the Sea bookfair decor is amazing! I bet the kids loved it!
The card is darling, too…I enjoyed the video and always learn so much! so thank you!
WOW! You ladies did an awesome job with the decorations! I wish my kids were little again. 🙁
I used to volunteer, and decorate the classroom’s calendar. It was a lot of fun.
Love your sweet card!
Thank you for sharing.
Brandy,
I am a Stampin UP Demonstrator but I don’t have any classes. I do really like watching your videos and learn so much from them. Before watching you I had signed up under another demonstrator in Illinois, so I pretty much am on my own here in Houston, and enjoy learning techniques from your videos. You are an inspiration for me.
Keep up the good work at your children’s elementary school. I was a VP in our PTA and it is alot of work, but the time goes by so fast. My children are 30 and 27 now!
Have a great day, and keep that spirit up!
