Here you go! This fun gift box tutorial you’ve been waiting for…
First, cut a Piece of Designer Series Paper or a stiffer card stock to 11″ x 11″. Using a Simple Scored diagonal plate and starting at the top and scoring in a downward diagonal… score your card stock on a diagonal at 4.5″ and 6.5″. Now using the left side of your simple scored… score your paper in a downward diagonal 4.5″ and 6.5″.
Next, flip your paper 90 degrees and your ready to add the next set of score line. Again using a Simple Scored diagonal plate and starting at the top and scoring in a downward diagonal… score your card stock on a diagonal at 3.5″ and 5.5″. Now using the left side of your simple scored… score your paper in a downward diagonal 3.5″ and 5.5″.
Find the coated side of your card stock if you have one and use StazOn black ink and the stamp set of your choice to begin stamping your decorative box. You have 4 larger triangles… find the two smaller ones and start at one size and make your way all the way across the box. Its Ok to stamp over the score lines. This will give your box a professional feel as the image wraps around the box. No fold and prep your box.
You’ll want to trim all the tiny corners… there are 8 total. You will also want to cut your flaps as shown. (Picture Coming). Determine which end of your box is the bottom flap and trim the little corner off at 3/4″ so its neat and tailored when opened. Now your ready to assemble your box. Don’t forget to watch my video so you can see placement of your magnetic clasp.
The black piece for the top flap of your box and the bottom flap of your box measures 6.5″ x 5-1/2″ and score the 6.5″ side down at 1-3/8″ This will cover both your top flap and box flap of your envelop. After adhering the top of your 6.5″ x 1-3/8″ to the top or bottom flap you can then use the box template to trim your triangles perfectly.
The “SMILE” sentiment was included in the Stampin’ Up! Happy Day stamp set and I used left over card stock to stamp on. I centered it on my box and glued it down. Trim off the remainder. If you’d like to learn more about the matching card click here for the tutorial.

Hi Brandy. I’m a crafter Mamaw that loves crafting with paper to make little boxes. You were such a fun and bubbly demonstrator. You mentioned on one of the videos I watched , that it was your first video, but it was awesome . Thanks for sharing your talent. You really are very good at it. Sandy
Hi Brandy. I’m a 66 year old Mamaw that loves crafting with paper. I came across your video on making boxes and loved it. You are such a fun bubbly demonstrator. One of your videos you said was your first and was awesome . Keep up the good work. You are so real. Thanks Sandy Mericle
Brandy,Just wanted to know, if you don’t have any DSP board , what other paper can I use and what would the weight, have to be of the paper?? I just made one as a sample with regular card stock——-and your right….it is a little light weight…Also, I didn’t have a magnet so I put two brads on it and wrapped some cording around them with a flower on the top flap. Turned out really neat. Sorry, but I haven’t conquered the art of taking pictures and putting it on the internet yet so I could send you a picture….just have to take my word for it……..Oh,,I think I did what you said to do about getting a copy or print-out of the directions for the box…….don’t know how I did it, but I got a print-out sheet for the box…………Thank you…..Love the box….will be making more now…Also LOVELOVE the new one with the toilet paper…will be trying that one next. Thanks Brandy, you have been a Great help…..Look forward to your tutorials ….Keep up the Great work….
Linda

What a great idea! So love the heavier duty paper to use for this, never thought of that. Will be making these for Christmas gifts for the bus driver and teachers this year. Such a beautiful gift when everything matches. Thanks for all your work and sharing.
Hi Rennie,

Hi there, I just love your video’s. Although we can’t buy any Stampin up stuff here in the United Arab Emirates, I try to adjust and use what I have. I am still hoping that one day we would be able to buy it here. I have a friend, American expat, who used to buy some Stampin up stuff in the US, when she went for her vacation, and she got me hooked! They have AMAZING products! So wish she was still a Stampin up demonstrator, but she gave it up. Thank you for sharing your video’s with us. My husband also keep’s asking me why I have to keep everything, lol! I am also a “hoarder”.

I so enjoyed watching you make this box. Oh my, it would make wonderful Christmas Gifts with cards to match inside. Please continue making things that would be good ideas for Christmas Gifts since it won’t be long until the holidays are here.
Happy Crafting!!
Love your tutorials! I am fairly new to card making so I like the way you ‘show’ how things are done. I especially like how you continue to talk us throughout the whole project!

Brandy I absolutely love the card gift box – I can not wait to try it!! Thank you so much for your video’s – it is so much easier for me to follow what to do when I actually see it being done and of course posting the measures on your site is so helpful so as we watch we don’t have to try to write those measurements as your demonistrating. Again thank you for sharing and for taking the time to post the video’s!!!
WOW Brandy…Great idea! I love that you thought of using the thicker cardstock that comes with the DSP!!! Gorgeous!!!
I was wondering if you have done the video on how to make the Apothecary Card? I know you have been very busy.

Hi Brandy
When would you use Staz on vs SU inks?
I, too, have been looking forward to this video. Just love this and the accompanying cards. Pick me! For future video, how about “lining envelopes”? I have read Susan’s idea, but really need your visual expertise here. Thank you. Congratulations on your awards at Convention 2013 – well deserved. Part of those are your husband’s; he is so supportive to you (he is your cameraman, right).
Love it! Bet I know what my SIL will be getting for Christmas this year. Thank you.
I love the box and am headed over to my craft room right now to give it a try. Thank you for all your great inspiration. By the way, I love that you use the word “perfect” when you do your videos. It is my favorite word! Hope my box turns out “perfect!”

Since I watched your tutorial on the 10 cards in 20 minutes, I’ve been waiting for the box video. It is gorgeous and I’m dying to make the set. What a great gift!! Thanks so much! You do a great job explaining and make it look so easy. Congratulations on your Founders Circle award! You deserve it!!

Your videos are great as are the projects. Love them.
Hi Brandy, Loved this tutorial. I look so forward each week to view them. I plan to try making this box and the matching cards.
I know there is a back order on the Magnetic Platform and still waiting on mine. But, I would love to see you do a tutorial on a card using The Out of the Box Tech. I have seen someone else’s tutorial, but when I tried it, it just didn’t come out the same. Not sure what I was doing wrong.
Also, I am trying the By the Tide card, but having trouble finding the correct size of gel bags, closes I have found is 4 by 3. Any suggestion on finding the 4 1/2 by 3?
Thanks so much, Jackie.
Dear Brandy,
Enjoyed the card box tutorial, but couldn’t find the picture to print off for future reference. I know you said in the tutorial that you would have one coming. Am I missing it somewhere? Please keep the tutorials coming!
Me again. I would like to see you make a card using the chalkboard technique. Thanks.
Omgosh I just love this box…it’s just so cute yet elegant….but I don’t have the scoreboard you’re using.I have the martha stewart one. Can i still use that one instead of the one by stampinup? I too save the back piece from the designer paper! I’m glad I did…now I can make some to give as gifts! Thank you so much Brandy…You’re creativity is amazing!
What a great box for cards. I will have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing.
This box is great! I keep everything also so I have that heavy card stock. I have given cards as gifts before, but never could figure out a big enough box for them. This helps me tremendously. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brandy, I too have been saving the back piece from the designer papers thinking I might use it sometime, and now is the time. I hope mine turns out as good as yours did.
