First, I cut one very vanilla strip at 1 1/4″ x 11″ and another at 1″ x 11″. I used the Friendly Words wheel, the Jumbo handle and a soft suede classic ink pad to roll out the friendly words over the strips. Using a sponge dab them with soft suede to give them that worn, vintage feel.

Now punch one long edge down both of your strips using your “new” scallop edge border punch.  Run them through a crimper several times.  You want them a bit worn down.

Now punch a 1 3/8″ circle out of soft suede card stock.  Line your circle with sticky tape. Now your ready to begin assembling your flower.

Take one end of your strip and stick it down towards the end of your circle.  Begin working your way all the way around by just folding the paper in as you go.  You will then take the smaller strip and do the same thing but start more towards the center. Once you finish your flower take a glue dot and put it in the center.  I punched a 3/4″ circle and dabbed it with soft suede for texture. If you’d like to take some hemp twine and make a bow in the middle of your flower.

It’s super easy and is absolutely beautiful when finished!  Enjoy.

Isn’t this card beautiful!!!  I absolutely loved the pink ribbon embellished in dazzling diamonds glitter! With a touching sentiment… “Embrace Life.”

I was inspired to make this card after I read about the Laugh for the Cure Program. It’s a grass-roots breast cancer charity event that was founded to remember loved ones lost, celebrate survivors and help individuals currently impacted by the disease. Laughter is the best medicine and the PG comedy shows have universal appeal to all audiences. Laugh for the Cure® is an Affiliate Event of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and is dedicated to furthering the Komen mission by combining comedy and charity. Visit our the Laugh for the Cure website to learn more about how you can begin ‘laughing for a cure’! What a great program and for a great cause.  Therefore, I decided to pull out my ribbon stamp and make a card that I thought would beautifully reflect this program and all the many women who represent it!

The technique I used to make this card is fun!  You take and cut a piece of  white tissue paper and scrunch it up in your hand.  Then take a glue stick and coat your paper really well.  Open the tissue paper and press it flat on the white paper.  This give a sort of faux effect!  It’s fabulous!

I used the new In-Color Melon Mamba, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White Card Stocks.

Open your Idea Book and Catalog to page #208 and check out the “Under $10″ stamps!!! That’s where you will find this precious ribbon that can be used to support so many causes.  It’s called the Ribbon of Hope #115552, $7.95.

The ribbon is also one of my favorites and you’ll see me use it often!!!  It’s the Organza Ribbon by Stampin’ Up!  As for the tearing portion of this card… you can use a tear edges; however, I enjoy tearing it free hand.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

The stamp set I used here is called Love Bandit and it can be found in your 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog. I have seen so many cute cards done with this stamp set… I had to try it!!!

However, I had a bit of a problem… two days ago I let my girlfriend borrow my heart punches so I had to think of another way to cut a heart in my tree.  All of a sudden it hit me… the Big Shot Movers & Shapers die with the Magnetic Movers and Shapers. It worked perfectly!

What could I use to create a tree?  Then it hit me why not use the “NEW” Wood Sheets.  This would be my first time using them and I was curious as to how easy/hard they are to use.  I was surprised… they are thin and really easy to use not to mention they are a very beautiful wood texture.  I liked them a lot.   I can see more projects with them in my future!

It’s a bit hard  to see here but I also used the Jumbo wheel handle with the I {Love} Love Wheel and a Real Red Classic Stamp Pad for my background stamp on the Real Red Card Stock.   I also wanted to add a bit of embellishment but not much.  This little guy is so cute he didn’t need anything to compete with him.  However, I tried the “New” Real Red Corduroy Buttons and some Hemp Twine and I loved it!

The top of the tree was done with Old Olive paper… flicked and Old Olive Designer Series Paper also with flicked edges. The raccoon was just stamped in Basic Black and then I used a two way clue pen with some dazzling diamonds glitter to finish him.  He sparkles!

Here is your February Stamp Camp  featured card.  What do you think?

Honestly,  I really don’t know what this technique is called; however, I love it! I have never tried it and have wanted to.  Once I saw the Flores Suaves Stamp Set (En Espanol Stamps by Stampin’ Up!) I new it was time to give it a try.

I knew this would highlight the butterfly so beautifully while keeping the dynamic nature of black and white.

WOW…What a Great Saying… Life Happens. Love helps.  Isn’t that the truth.  I pulled this stamp from the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set located in your Occasions Mini Catalog.
